Hypertension & kidney disease

Hypertension (high blood pressure) and kidney disease are closely linked, with each condition potentially worsening the other. High blood pressure can damage the small blood vessels in the kidneys, reducing their ability to filter waste and fluids effectively. Over time, this damage can lead to chronic kidney disease (CKD). On the other hand, kidney disease can also contribute to increased blood pressure due to the kidneys' role in regulating fluid balance and blood pressure. This creates a dangerous cycle that, if left untreated, can lead to further kidney damage, heart disease, or even kidney failure. Managing blood pressure through lifestyle changes, medications, and regular check-ups is essential to protect kidney function and prevent complications.
